U Than Swe, Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, received Mr. Chen Hai, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Myanmar, at 1800 hrs on 13 November 2023 at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Nay Pyi Taw.
During the meeting, they cordially exchanged views on the matters in promoting bilateral relations, cooperation on maintenance of peace and stability and rule of law along the border areas between Myanmar and China.

U Than Swe, Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister for Foreign Affairs received Mr. Sajjad Mohammad Sajid, Head of Office of the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (UNOCHA) at 1100 hrs on 9 November 2023 at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Nay Pyi Taw.
During the meeting, they discussed matters related to cooperation between the Government of Myanmar and the United Nations agencies, and the facilitation for the provision of humanitarian assistance to the needy population.
Also present at the meeting were the senior officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ms. Danielle Parry, Deputy Head of Office for UNOCHA in Yangon.

U Than Swe, Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister for Foreign Affairs received the delegation led by Mr. Raouf Mazou, Assistant High Commissioner for Operations of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) at 1000 hrs on 9 November 2023 at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Nay Pyi Taw.
During the meeting, they exchanged views on repatriation process for verified displaced persons from Bangladesh and ways and means pertaining to existing and further cooperation between the Government of Myanmar and the UNHCR.
Also present at the meeting were UNHCR Regional Director for Asia and the Pacific, Director of UNHCR Liaison Office in New York, Senior Policy Officer of the Regional Bureau for Asia and the Pacific, Representative of the UNHCR in Myanmar and External Relations Officer of UNHCR in Myanmar and senior officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Myanmar-China bilateral consultations held on 3 November 2023 at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Nay Pyi Taw
U Lwin Oo, Deputy Minister, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar held Myanmar-China bilateral consultations with Mr. Nong Rong, Assistant Minister, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China at 1610 hrs on 3 November 2023 at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Nay Pyi Taw.
At the bilateral meeting, they cordially exchanged views on matters pertaining to the further consolidation of the existing Pauk Phaw relations and implementation of mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries, acceleration of the ongoing Myanmar-China bilateral projects under China-Myanmar Economic Corridor (CMEC) and Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), the maintenance of peace and stability along the Myanmar-China border area, the continued provision of Chinese assistance for the economic development of Myanmar, intensification of collaboration between the two countries in the ASEAN and Mekong-Lancang Cooperation Mechanism frameworks and to render mutual support in regional and multilateral arenas and matters of common interests. The Deputy Minister also apprised the latest developments of Myanmar to the Chinese Assistant Minister.
In the evening, U Lwin Oo, Deputy Minister, Ministry of Foreign Affairs hosted a dinner to the visiting Chinese delegation led by Assistant Minister, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China at the M-Gallery Hotel.

Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister for Foreign Affairs U Than Swe received the Co-chair of Mekong-Lancang Cooperation and Head of Delegation of China, Mr. Nong Rong, Assistant Minister for Foreign Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Nay Pyi Taw in the afternoon of 3rd November 2023.
During the meeting, they cordially discussed and exchanged views on matters relating to the advancement of “Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership Relations” based on the existing “Pauk-Phaw” friendship between Myanmar and China, and cooperation at regional and international arenas including Mekong-Lancang Cooperation.

U Than Swe, Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, received newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Republic of the Union of Myanmar H.E. Mr. Iskander Azizov at 1300 hrs on 25 October 2023 at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Nay Pyi Taw.
During the meeting, the Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister congratulated the Ambassador on his recent appointment as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Republic of the Union of Myanmar. They cordially exchanged views on matters pertaining to the further enhancement of the friendly bilateral relations and mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries including the promotion of people-to-people contacts, and cooperation in trade, economic, education, health, culture, energy, electricity and tourism sectors, as well as closer collaboration in regional and multilateral contexts.

During the meeting, they cordially discussed matters pertaining to the advancement of “Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership Relations” based on the existing “Pauk-Phaw” friendship, acceleration of the ongoing Myanmar-China bilateral projects under the framework of Belt and Road Initiative on the basis of mutual benefit, the maintenance of peace, stability and rule of law along the border areas between Myanmar and China, repatriation of verified displaced persons from Rakhine state and China’s continuous constructive support towards Myanmar development endeavour as well as collaboration at regional and international arenas particularly ASEAN and the United Nations.
Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Foreign Affairs attends the ASEAN Senior Officials’ Coordination meeting for ASEAN-GCC Relations (13-10-2023)
Myanmar Delegation led by U Chan Aye, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Foreign Affairs attended the ASEAN Senior Officials’ Coordination meeting for ASEAN-GCC Relations which was held on 13 October 2023 through Video Conferencing.
The Meeting was chaired by H.E. Dato Sri Amran Mohamed Zin, Secretary-General for Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia as the current coordinator of the ASEAN-GCC Relations. The Meeting was also attended by Senior Officials from ASEAN Members States, Deputy Secretary-General for ASEAN Political and Security Community as well as was participated by Timor Leste’s Delegation as the observer country.
The Meeting discussed the matters pertaining to the ASEAN-GCC Cooperation, preparation for ASEAN-GCC Summit, the issuance of ASEAN-GCC Framework of Cooperation and Joint Statement on the ASEAN-GCC Summit.

U Kyaw Myo Htut, Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs receives the UNHCR Representative to Myanmar (29-9-2023)
U Kyaw Myo Htut, Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs received Ms. Noriko Takagi, UNHCR Representative to Myanmar at 11:00 hrs on 29 September 2023, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Nay Pyi Taw.
During the meeting, they discussed preparation of a pilot repatriation project for verified displaced persons who are in Bangladesh, the readiness of the Myanmar side to receive those verified persons and ways and means pertaining to existing and further cooperation between the Government of Myanmar and the UNHCR.
Also present at the meeting were senior officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Mr. Mulugeta Zewdie, Deputy Representative of UNHCR in Myanmar.
