U Lwin Oo, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, received Mr. Bibekananda Bhattamishra, the Consul-General of the Consulate General of the Republic of India in Sittwe, Rakhine State, who has completed his tour of duty, at 1100 hrs on 10 July 2024 at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Nay Pyi Taw.
 
During the call, the Deputy Minister commended the Indian Consul General’s contributions towards further strengthening the bilateral ties and cooperation during his tour of duty in Sittwe. They cordially exchanged views on matters pertaining to the promotion of the traditional bonds of friendship and continued collaboration in implementation of the Kaladan Multi-modal Transit Transport Project as well as Rakhine State Development projects.

U Than Swe, Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, received Mr. Daba Debele Hunde, Ambassador-designate of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia to the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, with residence in Tokyo, at 1300 hrs on 9 July 2024 at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Nay Pyi Taw.
 
During the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister for Foreign Affairs congratulated the Ethiopian Ambassador for his appointment as the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia to the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, with residence in Tokyo. Mr. Daba Debele Hunde presented a copy of his letter of credence to Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister for Foreign Affairs.
 
They cordially exchanged views on matters pertaining to the strengthening of the existing bilateral relations between Myanmar and Ethiopia, mutually beneficial cooperation including trade and investment sectors, and enhancement of collaboration in the regional and international arenas.

U Than Swe, Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister for Foreign Affairs received Mr. Marcoluigi Corsi, United Nations Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator a.i. (UN RC/HC a.i.) along with Mr. Sajjad Mohammad Sajid, Head of Office of the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (UNOCHA) in Myanmar at 1100 hrs on 8 July 2024 at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Nay Pyi Taw.
 
During the meeting, they discussed the matters on existing cooperation between the Government of Myanmar and the United Nations agencies.
 
Also present at the meeting were the senior officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

During the presentation of Credentials, they exchanged views on matters pertaining to the activities of UNFPA in Myanmar.
Also present at the meeting were the senior officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Deputy Representative of UNFPA in Myanmar.

At the farewell call, both sides cordially exchanged views on the matters pertaining to the further enhancement of the existing “Pauk-Phaw” relations between Myanmar and China, the mutually beneficial cooperation in both regional and international arena, especially in ASEAN and United Nations, the maintenance of peace and stability along Myanmar-China border and the acceleration of Myanmar-China bilateral relations.

Former President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar arrives back to Nay Pyi Taw after attending the 70th Anniversary of the Five Principles of the Peaceful Coexistence in China (29-6-2024)

In the morning of 29 June 2024, former President U Thein Sein paid homage to the Buddha’s tooth relic at Ling Guang Temple in Beijing and donated a replica of Maravijaya Buddha Image which was carried from Nay Pyi Taw to Chang Zang, Chief Monk of Ling Guang Temple.
 
On the same day at 1700 hrs, former President U Thein Sein received Mr. Wang Yi, Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, Director of the Office of the Central Commission for Foreign Affairs, and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China at the Diao Yutai State Guest House in Beijing. During the meeting with the Chinese Foreign Minister, they exchanged views on the existing friendly relations and cooperation between Myanmar and China, and recent development of Myanmar.
 
The Myanmar delegation led by former President arrived back to Nay Pyi Taw from Beijing, the People’s Republic of China by special flight at 1425 hrs on 30 June 2024, after attending the 70th Anniversary of the Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence which was held in the People’s Republic of China. The Myanmar delegation was welcomed at the Nay Pyi Taw Airport by Admiral Tin Aung San, member of the State Administration Council, Deputy Prime Minster and Union Minister for Defence, U Wunna Maung Lwin, Member of the State Administration Council, U Ko Ko Hlaing, Union Minister of the Ministry 2 at Office of Chairman of the State Administration Council, U Lwin Oo, Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs, Ms. Cao Jing, Deputy Head of Mission (Minister Counsellor) of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Myanmar and senior officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Former President U Thein Sein attends the 70th Anniversary of the Five Principle of Peaceful Coexistence held in Beijing (28-6-2024)

U Thein Sein, former president of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar and Myanmar Delegation attended the opening ceremony of the 70th Anniversary of the Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence held at 1000 hrs on 28 June 2024 at Great Hall of the People in Beijing, China. H.E. Mr Xi Jinping, President of the People’s Republic of China delivered a speech at the opening ceremony and highlighted the core principles and the essence of peaceful coexistence and key changes, an indication to establish a community with peace and tranquility and a shared future for mankind during the previous 70 years.
 
Also present at the opening ceremony were 20 former Heads of State and Heads of Government and representatives from 100 countries, international organizations, diplomats, Media and Business communities. The Former President was accompanied by U Thant Kyaw, Chairman of the Myanmar Institute of Strategic and International Studies (MISIS), U Tin Oo, Chairman of the Myanmar- China Friendship Association, Daw Than Than Nu, Chairperson of the U Nu- Daw Mya Yi Foundation and other officials.
 
The Former President U Thein Sein attended a luncheon hosted by H.E. Mr. Wang Yi, Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, Director of the Office of the Central Commission for Foreign Affairs, and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China at 1130 hrs at Liuhe -Diao Yutai and gave remark on the vital essence of the Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence for world peace, peaceful settlement of international disputes, mutual respects, equality and tranquility among countries in adhering the Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence. Mr. Nong Due Manh, the former Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee, Ms. Dilma Rousseff, the former President of Federative Republic of Brazil, Mr. Mulatu Teshome Wirtu, the former President of Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, Mr. Dominique Marle Francois Galouzeau de Villepin, the former Prime Minister of French Republic were also attended the luncheon.
 
In the evening, the former President U Thein Sein attended the dinner hosted by Mr. Wang Chao, Chairman of Chinese People’s Institute of Foreign Affairs at St.Regis Hotel.
