H.E. U Than Swe, Union Minister for Foreign Affairs met with H.E. Mr. Maxim Ryzhenkov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus at Jasmine Naypyitaw Hotel on 27 November 2025 at 1500 hrs.
The two Foreign Ministers discussed further enhancement of bilateral relations and cooperation particularly the relations between two Foreign Ministries. They cordially exchanged views on increasing cooperation in various sectors, resulting tangible progress. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to work closely to further expand the areas of cooperation for the benefit of the two countries.
Deputy Foreign Minister attend the ASEAN-China Economic and Trade Cooperation New Opportunities Matchmaking Conference and Myanmar Ambassador to China deliver the Opening Remarks (27-11-2025, Fuzhou)

H.E. U Naing Min Kyaw, Deputy Foreign Minister of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, H.E. U Tin Oo, Chairman of the Myanmar-China Friendship Association (Center) and the delegation attended the ASEAN-China Economic and Trade Cooperation New Opportunities Matchmaking Conference which was held in Fuzhou, Fujian Province on November 18, 2025.
The conference was attended by H.E. Ms. Guo Ningning, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Fujian Provincial Committee, Secretary of the CPC Fuzhou Municipal Committee, H.E. Senator Dato Awang Bemee Awang Ali Bash, President of the Senate of Malaysia, Mr. Filep Wamafma, Chairperson of Committee III of the Regional Representative Council of the Republic of Indonesia, H.E. Mr. Shi Zhongjun, Secretary General of the ASEAN-China Centre and delivered Opening Remarks. H.E. U Tin Maung Swe, Myanmar Ambassador to China also delivered an opening remarks at the conference.
The Conference was held under the theme of Deepening ASEAN-China Economic and Trade Connectivity, and Jointly Exploring New Opportunities for Regional Cooperation.
The dignitaries attended to the said Conference emphasized that Fujian Province is an important place for 21 century Maritime Silk Road. It is geographically close to ASEAN countries and has cultural connections. ASEAN is the largest trading partner for Fujian Province as well as important for foreign investment in Fuzhou City. The total import and export of Fujian and ASEAN countries exceeded 440 billion RMB year on year. In October, ASEAN and China signed the Free Trade Area Version 3.0 Upgrade Protocol covering 9 areas including the digital economy, green economy and supply-chain connectivity. This Protocol can bring new opportunities and deepen the economic and trade cooperation between Fuzhou City, Fujian Province and ASEAN countries. They also recommended to avoid unilateralism and protectionism and must firmly uphold the multilateral trading system by seizing the opportunities offered by the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) and CAFTA 3.0, by exploring the trade rules on digital trade, green standards and supply-chain resilience.
Myanmar Ambassador to China highlighted the strong and enduring relationship between Myanmar and China, noting that China is not only a trusted neighbour but also a vital economic partner. The event helps strengthen business ties and explore new investment opportunities, in line with ASEAN-China cooperation under the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP). By leveraging the collective strengths of ASEAN and China, Ambassador emphasized that the region can build a sustainable economy that enhances competitiveness while contributing to global stability and prosperity.
Moreover, on behalf of the Government of Myanmar, the Ambassador extended an invitation to invest in Myanmar and collaboration from China and ASEAN member states. He also said that Myanmar is ready to cooperate in many fields such as railways, energy, oil, natural gas, infrastructure, manufacturing and agriculture.
The Ambassador further noted that when seizing opportunities, challenges must also be addressed to ensure success. He stressed that a balanced and equitable framework for economic cooperation will pave the way for long-term, shared development between Myanmar, China, and ASEAN countries.
The Conference was attended by the experts, Chinese entrepreneurs, government representatives and other stakeholders totaling around 100 participants.

Union Minister for Foreign Affairs U Than Swe received Mr. Tariq Karim, Ambassador-designate of Pakistan at the Ministry of ForeIgn Affairs in Nay Pyi Taw on 21 November 2025 at 1245 hrs.
During the meeting, the Union Minister congratulated Mr. Tariq Karim on his appointment as the Ambassador of Pakistan to Myanmar. They discussed matters relating to enhancement of existing friendly ties and bilateral cooperation in mutually beneficial areas including trade, agriculture, tourism, people-to-people contacts and capacity building.

H.E. U Ko Ko Kyaw, Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar arrived in Thailand in the morning of 13 November 2025 and visited Myanmar Embassy in Bangkok. During his visit, His Excellency observed the consular operations at the Embassy and met with the officials and local staff of the Embassy to deliver guidance on the consular services matters, preparations for the advance voting before the General Election on 28 December 2025 and related administrative matters.
The Union Minister for Foreign Affairs delivers diplomatic briefing on the recent developments in Myanmar (12-11-2025, Yangon)

A diplomatic briefing was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Yangon today at 09:00 hrs, in which Union Minister for Foreign Affairs U Than Swe briefed Ambassadors, heads of missions, diplomats, and representative from United Nations agencies based in Yangon on the current developments in Myanmar.
The briefing was attended by Deputy Minister for Home Affairs Lt-Gen Aung Kyaw Kyaw, UEC Member U Aung Lwin Oo, and officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Home Affairs, and the Union Election Commission, as well as Ambassadors, chargés d’affaires, diplomats, and representative from UN agencies. In his remarks, the Union Minister explained the ongoing preparations for the forthcoming multi-party democratic general election, ensuring that the elections will be free, fair, and inclusive. He noted that no restrictions have been imposed on political parties or candidates wishing to contest the election, and that arrangements are being made to hold the elections in phases. He also briefed that local and international election observers, diplomats, international organizations, and media representatives have been invited and granted accreditation to monitor the electoral process to ensure the election’s transparency.
Regarding the peace process, the Union Minister reiterated that the Government continues to invite Ethnic Armed Organizations and armed groups to participate in peace talks and political process through dialogue. He also highlighted that armed groups based in border areas are operating online gambling, casinos, and online scams together with international criminal gangs.
He stated that within over a 2-years period, from October 2023 to November 2025, a total of 67,982 foreign nationals from 52 countries who had illegally entered Myanmar through neighboring countries were deported to their respective home countries.
He further briefed that 99.5 percent of illegal entries occurred through land routes from neighboring countries, with most operations based in Kayin State—particularly in the Myawaddy and Mehthawthalay KK Park areas—where online fraud activities are conducted. He also briefed that these gangs and armed groups have been getting internet, electricity, and financial transaction from neighboring countries for their illegal activities. He therefore stressed the need for greater cross-border cooperation to effectively combat transnational crimes. The Union Minister also urged diplomats to convey the true situation on the ground in Myanmar to their respective governments.
Officials from the Union Election Commission then conducted a demonstration of the Electronic Voting Machine (EVM), explaining the electronic voting system. Diplomats observed the voting process firsthand and engaged in questions and discussions regarding the system.
Subsequently, officials from the Ministry of Home Affairs briefed participants on transnational crimes and drug eradication efforts, noting that most of the chemical precursors used in narcotics production are being trafficked into Myanmar from neighboring countries. They highlighted the involvement of certain EAOs in these activities, which directly affect Myanmar’s internal political stability, and called for stronger cooperation and monitoring from neighboring countries. The officials also presented video testimonies of individuals apprehended during operations against online gambling syndicates. Regarding the crackdown on KK Park, a scam hub in Myawaddy Township, the official explained that of the total 635 buildings, 148 have been demolished in the first phase, 62 in the second phase, and 425 buildings are planned for demolition in the next phases. They underscored the importance of cooperation among the country of origin, the destination country, and the transit country in addressing these transnational issues.
The briefing concluded with a question-and-answer session, during which diplomats raised their queries and responsible officials provided clarifications.

The Brazilian Ambassador to Myanmar, H.E. Mr Gustavo Rocha de Menezes and officials cordially welcomed the Union Minister of Foreign Affairs, Chief Minister of Yangon Division and invited guests.
The ceremony was opened with the national anthems of Myanmar and Brazil. The Brazilian Ambassador to Myanmar, H.E. Mr Gustavo Rocha de Menezes, delivered a welcoming speech and hosted a dinner for the Union Minister and the guests attending the reception.
