Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister for Foreign Affairs of Myanmar received Ambassador of the UAE to Myanmar

H.E. U Than Swe, Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar received H.E. Mr. Mutaz Abdullah Abduljaleel Mohamed Al Faheem, Ambassador of United Arab Emirates (UAE) to Myanmar, on 19 June 2025 at 14:00 hrs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Nay Pyi Taw.
During the meeting, both sides cordially exchanged views on further strengthening the existing bilateral ties including establishment of diplomatic missions in each country, enhancing economic cooperation and promoting trade and investment opportunities in all areas of mutual benefits between the two countries, including energy sector.
Also present at the meeting were senior officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, U Lwin Oo, received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal to the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, H.E. Mr. Harishchandra Ghimire, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Nay Pyi Taw at 1100 hrs on 9 June 2025.
During the discussion, the Deputy Minister expressed his appreciation for the support and assistance rendered by Nepal to the Government of Myanmar’s relief efforts in the aftermath of the Mandalay earthquake. They also discussed matters related to strengthening cooperation in areas of mutual interests.

The dinner reception to commemorate the Diamond Jubilee of Myanmar-China Diplomatic Relations was held at the Mingalar Thiri Hotel in Nay Pyi Taw on the evening of 8th June 2025. The reception was attended by the Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, Deputy Prime Minister and Union Ministers, Union level dignitaries, Deputy Ministers, Chinese Ambassador to Myanmar, Ambassadors/ Heads of Diplomatic Missions in Yangon, members of the diplomatic corps, officials from the concerned Ministries and invitees.
The Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar delivered the opening remarks at the reception commemorating the 75th Anniversary of the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations between Myanmar and China. In his address, the Deputy Prime Minister extended warmest congratulations on the 75 years of enduring diplomatic ties between Myanmar and China, emphasized that the two countries stand as good neighborly friendship based on the principles of peaceful coexistence, equality and mutual respect.
The Deputy Prime Minister also highlighted the significance milestones of bilateral ties— the highest level of elevation being the Strategic Cooperative Partnership and the affirmation of community of shared future vision, and also reaffirmed to fulfil the visions, commitments, and the fruitful outcomes of the meetings between Chairman of the State Administration Council and Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Qiang of the People’s Republic of China. Furthermore, he conveyed sincere gratitude to the Government of China for its timely dispatch of emergency rescue teams and humanitarian assistance for the swift response in the aftermath of the Mandalay earthquake, as well as for China’s continued positive support for Myanmar peace and national reconciliation process.
At the ceremony, the Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister for Foreign Affairs handed over the Commemorative Medals of Appreciation from Myanmar Government to Ambassador of China as a sincere appreciation for the invaluable humanitarian assistance and for sending emergency search and rescue teams to Myanmar within hours after devastating earthquake.
Afterwards, H.E. Ms. Ma Jia, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Myanmar, also delivered a return remark by reflecting on the existing friendly ties and commitment to continue multifaceted cooperation between the two countries.
The Deputy Prime Minister and the Union Minister for Foreign Affairs of Myanmar and the Chinese Ambassador later cut the commemorative Diamond Jubilee Cake. After that, the Deputy Prime Minister and the Union Minister for Foreign Affairs of Myanmar posed for a group photo with the dignitaries attending the reception.
Subsequently, the attending guests were graciously hosted at a formal dinner reception. During the event, cultural dance troupes from the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Culture and the Myanmar-China Friendship Association presented a series of traditional performances, showcasing the rich cultural heritage of both nations.
At the conclusion of the performances, Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister for Foreign Affairs U Than Swe, along with the Chinese Ambassador to Myanmar, H.E. Ms. Ma Jia, presented honorary flower bouquet and honorarium to the cultural troupe members and the ceremony was brought to an end.

U Than Swe, Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, received Ms. Ma Jia, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Myanmar, on 6 June 2025 at 1500 hrs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Nay Pyi Taw.
During the meeting, they cordially discussed the matters pertaining to the further consolidation of the existing Pauk Phaw relations and expansion of cooperation between Myanmar and China, continued implementation of Myanmar-China bilateral projects with momentum, China’s provision of humanitarian assistance, medical facility and rescue teams to Myanmar for the affected families and communities in the aftermath of the devastating Mandalay earthquake as well as the continued support of China for the Myanmar Government’s effort in the disaster rehabilitation and resettlement programmes in the affected areas.

U Than Swe, Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar received Mr. Mongkol VISITSTUMP, Ambassador of Thailand to Myanmar at 1400 hours on 30 May 2025 at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Nay Pyi Taw.
During the meeting, both sides cordially exchanged views on further enhancing the existing bilateral ties and collaboration across various sectors in areas of mutual interest, enforcing the post-earthquake rehabilitation and reconstruction efforts. Also, they discussed ways and means to closely cooperate and collaborate with ASEAN. Furthermore, U Than Swe, Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister for Foreign Affairs handed over the Commemorative Medals of Appreciation to Ambassador of Thailand as a sincere appreciation for the invaluable humanitarian assistance extended by the citizens of Thailand during the Mandalay Earthquake Disaster which occurred on 28 March 2025.

U Than Swe, Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister for Foreign Affairs received Mr. Sajjad Mohammad Sajid, Head of Office of the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (UNOCHA) in Myanmar who has completed his assignment, at 0930 hrs on 29 May 2025, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Nay Pyi Taw.
During the meeting, they exchanged views on matters related to cooperation between Myanmar and the UNOCHA during the term of Mr. Sajjad Mohammad Sajid in Myanmar as well as further activities of the UNOCHA.

(UNRC/ HC a.i.) and Representative of the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) in Myanmar who is about to accomplish his assignment in Myanmar, at 1100 hrs on 28 May 2025, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Nay Pyi Taw.
During the meeting, they exchanged views on matters relating to cooperation between Myanmar and the United Nations during the tenure of Mr. Marcoluigi Corsi in Myanmar.

H.E. U Ko Ko Kyaw, Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar received H.E. Mr. Iskander Azizvov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to Myanmar, at 14:00 hrs on 28 May 2025 at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Nay Pyi Taw.
During the Meeting, both sides cordially exchanged views on matters related to promotion of ASEAN-Russia Strategic Dialogue partnership under the coordinatorship of Myanmar from 2024 to 2027 and the developments of the projects implementing under the framework of Myanmar-Russia bilateral relations.
Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs attends the 2nd ASEAN-Gulf Cooperation Council Summit, the ASEAN-Gulf Cooperation Council-China Summit (27-5-2025, Kuala Lumpur)

Myanmar Delegation led by Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar participated in the 2nd ASEAN-GCC Summit and the ASEAN-GCC-China Summit held at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on 27th May 2025.
Heads of State/Heads of Government from ASEAN Member States, GCC Member States, ASEAN Foreign Ministers, Secretaries-General of ASEAN and GCC, and Senior Officials participated in the said Meetings, and Prime Minister of Timor-Leste also attended as an observer.
At the 2nd ASEAN-GCC Summit, the leaders reviewed the progress of implementation of the ASEAN-GCC Framework of Cooperation (2024-2028) and exchanged views to expand cooperation in the areas of free trade, education, sustainable development, and cultural and digital connectivity.
At the ASEAN-GCC-China Summit which was held with the theme “Synergising Economic Opportunities towards Shared Prosperity”, the leaders explored the opportunities to strengthen trade and investment relations, connectivity, agriculture, food security and energy to bind the regions with stronger friendship and cooperation.
