While in Bangkok, Thailand, to attend the Informal ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Meeting, U Tin Maung Swe, Union Minister for Foreign Affairs met with Mr. Le Hoai Trung, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Viet Nam, at 1710 hrs on 12 July 2026, and held cordial and candid discussions on further strengthening the longstanding friendship and excellent relations between the two countries, which have been built upon decades of close cooperation and mutual support at both the bilateral and international levels. They also exchanged views on ways to expand mutually beneficial cooperation in areas of common interest for the mutual benefit of both countries.
Earlier, at 1500 hrs, the Union Minister met briefly with Dr. Vivian Balakrishnan, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Singapore. During the meeting, the two Ministers exchanged views on bilateral relations and the latest developments in Myanmar.
